This is a view of our conference room for larger groups who come to make arrangements. Designed to be comfortable and not very "officelike", we offer coffee and first present Federal Trade Commission lists required under the funeral rule. We obtain vital statistics for the death certificate and discuss the type of funeral and disposition the family may want. Sometimes it takes a while. A lot of people today are looking for alternatives to "tradition" and we can help them define what will be "right" for them.
Above all, the most important thing is to ensure that their needs are met and their concerns addressed. If you are ever in this situation in any funeral home and feel that the funeral director is not listening or really concerned with YOUR needs, GET OUT OF THERE. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE! Yes, we know it is very difficult to leave Mom and start looking for another funeral home, but you are entitled to the kind of caring service described above. Believe me, there is going to be a concerned, caring funeral home somewhere in your area and you can find one with a couple of phone calls. I really hate to say this but, "Trust me on this". This is no time to stay in a place that does not go out of their way to make you comfortable and meet your needs. It's too important.
